The high Air Bags count is almost entirely the industry-wide Takata inflator recall, not a Silverado-specific defect — most of the recalls below are Takata. The Engine and Fuel/Propulsion lines are the ones that matter for a diesel buyer: that’s where the LML’s CP4.2 pump story lives. The Allison 1000 automatic behind it is generally a strength.
The LML Duramax, specifically
The LML is a strong engine with one headline risk and a handful of emissions-era annoyances:

- Emissions system (DEF / DPF / SCR) — NOx sensor faults, DEF injector and heater faults, and regen issues are the common check-engine triggers on these years.
